There is currently a fuel shortage in Mexico. The reason is unclear, but it's a pain in the butt. Prices go up almost 20% on Jan 1st, making the price similar to Canada. Except people here make a lot less.

Roca Azul
Arrived here yesterday. It is less than an hour from Villa Corona, but closer to shopping. It has one small thermal pool and a large cold (very cold in jan) one. It is actually a nicer place to be in March when it's hotter and the Jacarinda trees are blooming (see the photo below I took a few years back). The park is located at the far west end of Lake Chapala. Lake Chapala is the largest lake in Mexico, about 80 km long & 16 km wide, but very shallow, no more than a few metres in most places. I would not swim in it. The north side of the lake is Gringoville, 1000's of Americans & Canadians live there in enclaves. the climate is near perfect, seldom going below 70 F or over 80 F during the day. It did give us an opportunity to make a Walmart run.
